Employer Panel Event in Newmarket

Nov 18, 2016

Thank you to the employers who made our event a success. Lots of information shared and many insights into the hiring processes at different organizations.

Seneca Employment Services held a very successful Employer Panel Event November 4, at 16655 Yonge Street, Unit 3, Newmarket. York Region Employers represented the Panel and the audience was made up of job seekers and career changers interested in knowing more about employer hiring processes.

Recruiters and HR Managers of Magna Power Train, Spectrum Educational Supplies Ltd., Pfaff Automotive Partners, BC Machining Technologies and Russell Security Service Inc. spoke about their hiring processes, what job seekers can do to their resumes/cover letters to improve their hiring chances, and what they look for in a person when hiring.  Seneca’s Facilitator, Michelle Tate, questioned the Panel individually on topics provided by our community of job seekers.  The event was not only interesting but entertaining to the well-attended room of participants.

Once the panel had completed responding to the facilitator’s questions, the floor was open to the audience to ask questions of our Panel. Many of the questions and responses benefited the majority of the audience, including information about relationship building, how to use your international experience and get working locally, and how to use temporary employment to prove your skills and access companies of your choice.

”This is the first time we have held this type of event,” explains Martin Tame, Manager of Seneca Employment Services,  “We  feel the information relevance,, exposure for the employers and interest from the community played a big part in the success of this event. Seneca is always seeking innovative ways to share information with our community, job seekers, and career changers that will offer insight for their own personal success. I believe employers are also wanting to find the best possible candidates, locally.”
