Keep Job Searching......

Don’t take a vacation from your job search – even though summer is approaching, employers are still hiring
Yes, hiring does slow down a little in the summer, but that doesn’t mean that opportunities don’t exist. Many job seekers feel they can take a vacation from their job search, when in reality they stand a better chance of success if they keep at it. The slower summer months typically mean fewer competitors, so if you’re still in the game it could pay off handsomely.
While many businesses see a bit of a drop-off over the summer, just as many are as busy as ever. Employees may take time off and employers too, but there’s still work to be done and they don’t shut down entirely. Job vacancies happen all year round. In fact, if there’s an urgency, in the summer months you could find yourself a job within a week, with few competitors. As you would during other times of the year, be ready and available.
From a company’s perspective, searching for someone to fill a position can take up to several months. It’s a multi-step process. They can no more afford to take several monthsoff from hiring every year than they can hang a “gone fishin’” sign on their front door and shut down for an entire season.
Don’t take a break from networking either. People are naturally more relaxed in the warmer months and may have leisure on their mind but that shouldn’t stop you from arranging to see them and taking part in activities together. Sometimes not talking shop is the best way to connect, so enjoy work-related contacts in a different way throughout the summer months. It will help strengthen these same relationships during the rest of the year.
